EdF plans 400-MW CCGT plant

Electricite de France has announced plans for a 400-MW combined cycle gas turbine power plant in the northwest of Slovakia. The project, which will cost an estimated €300 million, is to be developed by newly created and wholly owned EdF subsidiary Tatrapower. The plant will produce baseload power for sale to all comers and not just its part-owned regional distribution company, Stredoslovenska Energetika SSE, SSE manager Ludovic Kyska told Platts. SSE is helping EdF with the project.
