Work starts at Novovoronezh II-2

Atomenergoproekt launched construction of the second reactor of the Novovoronezh II nuclear power plant in southwestern Russia with the pouring of first concrete in a ceremony held July 12. Novovoronezh II will comprise two 1,200-MW class AES 2006 VVERs - the first of Russia's third generation pressurized water reactors -which are currently scheduled to enter service in 2012 and 2013, respectively.
