PGNiG's power plans to boost gas sales

Poland's dominant gas company, PGNiG, is planning to take equity stakes in new gas-fired generation projects to allow it to sell electricity to both industrial and retail customers. PGNiG's move into the power sector will also help it diversify its gas supplies by developing the Polish gas market and increasing demand for gas, Radoslaw Dudzinski, the company's deputy chief executive responsible for strategy and gas purchasing told Platts July 14.
