Bulgargaz posts 2008 loss

State gas firm Bulgargaz moved from a net profit of Lev 87 million in 2007 to a net loss of Lev 90.5 million in 2008, according to the company's recently published annual financial report, audited by KPMG Bulgaria. This took place despite a substantial year-on-year rise in revenues (from Lev 1.113 billion to Lev 1.433 billion) with higher gas prices offsetting a 3.5% drop in sales by volume to 3.24 Bcm.
