European gas transit down 42.1%

Ukraine's transit of Russian natural gas to Europe in the first half of this year fell by 42.1% year-on-year to 37.6 billion cubic metres from 65.3 Bcm shipped in HI 2008. In June, Ukraine transported 7.98 Bcm to Europe, up from 7.54 Bcm shipped in May, but down from June 2008's 9.6 Bcm, the Ministry of Fuel and Energy said July 9.
