German H1 energy demand recovers, but stays 7% below 2019: AGEB

German primary energy consumption rose 4.3% on the year in the firstsix months 2021 as Europe’s biggest economy recovered fromcoronavirus restrictions, while a cold winter boosted demand for gas,research group AG Energiebilanzen (AGEB) said Aug. 3.Total demand of 6,191 PJ for the period however remained some 7%below H1 2019 when adjusted for average temperatures, it said basedon preliminary data.
