Ever since they built and opened a new pipe plant last year in Little Rock, AR in the midst of the worldwide recession, Welspun Corp. Ltd has landed a firm place on the energy industry's radar screen. That site became the India-based company's first large-diameter pipe manufacturing location in North America. Recently, Welspun announced it would add 230 jobs at the mill - more than doubling its workforce - while investing another $30 million. Welspun, now the second-largest line pipe manufacturer in the world, has won major orders from El Paso Corp. and TransCanada PipeLines in building up a reputation as one of the most success-fill pipe manufacturers in the United States. A recent news release says the company is also exploring opportunities to export pipe for several large projects in Mexico.
