Trenchers And Equipment, Inc. has announced the new Eagle 7500 Wheel Trencher, which has a Caterpillar Tier III 250 hp diesel engine, electronically controlled hydraulic drives, 7-foot digging depth and 24- to 30-inch width cuts. According to the company, the speed of a wheel trencher allows it to replace anywhere from 4 to 10 backhoes for open cut methods. Trenchers also leave behind a perfect trench with a fine spoil that can be discharged to either side of the machine, or loaded directly onto a truck. The new model is GPS compatible and weighs 56,000 lbs.
