If there were an award for the most scenic paper mill site in the U.S., Daishowa America's mill in Port Angeles, Wash., would win hands down. With its back to the Olympic Mountains, the mill fronts on the Strait of Juan de Fuca, which leads to the Pacific Ocean. Standing in the machine room, you can see whitecaps breaking on the water. Outside the mill, facing south, you can see the snowcapped mountains in nearby Olympic National Park.
