摘要

We demonstrate for the first time to our knowledge laser oscillation of Tm:LuVO_4 at room temperature with both Ti: sapphire and diode laser pumping, and tunable operation from 1839 to 1952 nm. Spectroscopic studies indicate higher gain cross section for the σ-polarization as observed in the laser experiments.
