A sneak peek of tomorrow was provided by Intel at the company's annual Research@Intel Day in California. Nearly 40 futuristic projects and concepts were showcased in areas such as eco-technology, 3-D Internet, enterprise IT and wireless mobility. Platform power management (PPM), is one of power management technologies behind "Moorestown," the codename of a future member of the Atom family that enables up to a 50x reduction in platform idle power over today's Atom-based platform.
