With exactly a month post-demonetisation, the banking system simply refuses to get its act together. Unending long-queues of people outside bank branches and ATMs are now on verge of entering the Guiness Book of World records for the maximum number of days at a stretch for the cash crunch. Following others to offer similar facility, Vodafone is offering through its network of 1,20,000 m-pesa outlets across the country the facility to withdraw petty cash. However, the facility is unique to the M-Pesa wallet holders. The money stored in the M-Pesa account is secured by a 4 digit M-Pesa pin which should be known only to you, just like an ATM.
