When the first Microsoft Windows CE-based palm-size PDAs with color displays hit the market in mid-l999, Palm dismissed color screens for their expense, power requirements, and lack of user demand. Now, less than a year later, Palm's first PDA with a color screen, the Palm IIIc ($449 list). is here. The device works well, but it isn't as powerful tor multimedia applications as its Windows CE competitors are.
