I know I'm not alone when I say I am a sucker for lists. When I'm passing through an airport and see a consumer or business magazine cover reporting on the top 10 this or the top 100 that I have to stop, pick up the publication, and check it out. That's what happened when I saw Barron's July 1 cover story on the world's most respected companies. The main reason I picked it up was to see if any paper companies made the list. The answer was no. Why not? Because I believe for Barron's respect really means "make money for investors" and until very recently paper companies haven't done a very good job in this arena.
