New input device from Interlink Electronics captures both signatures and thumbprints for Biometrically-Secure document processing

Anew input device, ePad-i.d., is the first to accept both handwritten signatures and thumbprints for electronic document security applications, the manufacturer reports. The integrated, low profile PC input device has been introduced in Europe by Interlink Electronics, Inc. It uses the company's patented VersaPad technology to capture handwritten signature and fingerprint biometrics. ePad-i.d. gives government agencies and the financial, insurance and retail industries an important new tool to automate the signing of electronic documents while achieving compliance with increasingly stringent customer identification rules.
