スマートパッケージと無人コンビニ·セルフレジの課題

Smart in the smart packaging is a word meaning high performance". It is progressing to pay for packaging with RFID (smart package) using self-checkout at unmanned convenience stores or ordinal supermarkets in China, Japan and other countries. Such smart packaging is aiming not only to simplify the casher's work, but also to prevent shoplifting, to simplify store inventory and to promote discount sales of goods which the expiration date is approaching. The application of IC tags is also expanding for food labeling and marketing tools. The current status of Chinese unmanned convenience stores are reported. In Japan, especially in capital Kanto area, prepaid IC cards of non-contact FeliCa system used for transportation and convenience stores are developing rapidly and more than 100 million cards are used even for purchasing small goods. This prepaid card system is preferred by Japanese people who respect privacy.
