The Hans Merensky Group is the largest avocado grower in southern Africa, and its brand name Westphalia is recognised as a worldwide leader. Although available to manufacturers of cosmetics over the last decade, Avocado Oil is among the newer edible oils and salad dressings on the market. The oil has a very high smoking point when compared with other cooking oils, which makes it ideal for frying and accentuates the natural flavours of the food. The oil contains mono-unsaturated fatty acids that include oleic acids - the most important mono-unsaturated oil - to keeps arteries supple, and is the major fatty acid found in oils produced by our skin glands.
