Benson fits GUK folder at Medica

Benson Group has installed a second GUK folder at Medica Packaging to meet growing demand for folded leaflets in the UK.rnCrewe-based Medica has invested £250,000 in the two machines, the first of which was installed at the site last year.rnThe company has experienced significant growth in leaflets, which has led to the need for a 30% increase in folding capacity.rnBenson Group managing director Mark Kerridge said that the new GUK would significantly increase productivity without adding additional labour to the plant.rnKerridge added that the new machines would be used to serve the major pharmaceutical houses in the UK.rnThe high speed GUK FA43 with 10 moulding plates was supplied and customised by GUK distributor M Partners.rnThe machine is the latest round of investment for Benson Medica, following the installation of a Gallus label press (Packaging News, February 2009).
