Attendees at this fall's Pack Expo International are in for a treat-literally-when they visit the show's Confectionery Pavilion. Endorsed and hosted by the National Confectioners' Association, the pavilion will showcase advances in confectionery packaging and processing. No doubt many conversations at the Confectionery Pavilion's Candy Bar Lounge will turn to trends like the growing use of stand-up pouches, demand for portion control and the growing popularity of shareable candy packages. In a 2013 research study conducted by PMMI, "stand-up pouches, with or without zippers, were mentioned as one of the fastest growing types of packaging."
