Apple released iOS 14.3 Public Beta 3 and is rumored to be developing its own search engine for use on iOS devices, replacing Google. Apple reportedly receives between $8-$12 billion for that placement, and nearly half of Google's traffic comes from Apple devices. Apple hired John Giannandrea, Google's former head of search, and has been recruiting search engineers for the past 2 years. With the United States now suing Google for antitrust violations in both the search and search advertising markets, political and financial forces may accelerate the development of an Apple search engine. However, no public Apple search engine is yet available.
