After recent upward revisions of 2009 projected oil demand, the IEA kept it virtually unchanged at 84.9m bpd in its latest report. However the forecast for 2010 was revised upwards by a further 130,000 bpd to 86.3m bpd. The revision is largely premised on growth in demand in non-OECD countries, but there has also been some improvement in OECD prospects.
