Ezra Holdings responds to downturn

Ezra Holdings' managing director Lionel Lee says the Singapore-listed holding company for Emas AMC, Emas Offshore Limited (EOL) and Triyards is looking at "right-sizing the organisation" -including fleet rationalisation - in order to tide it over in the current low oil price environment. Ezra's OSV unit EOL will be divesting two 5,000 bhp anchor handling tug supply (AHTS) vessels after letting go of a similar specification unit earlier this year. During the first half of the financial year 2015, EOL reported fleet utilisation of 79 per cent, dragged down by weakness in the shallow water AHTS market. Utilisation of larger AHTS of 10,000 bhp and above was averaging around 97 per cent, group chief financial officer, Eugene Cheng said.
