The Superwool~® Plus insulating fibre blanket from Morgan Thermal Ceramics is said to be ideal for furnace linings in the iron and steel and alumin-ium industries, as well as all appli-cations where high temperature processing is a requirement. According to the company, the fibre blanket has a thermal con-ductivity that is up to 20% lower than competitive insulations and is proven to be 17% more energy efficient than traditional Refrac-tory Ceramic Fibre (RCF) and any other Alkaline Earth Silicate (AES) insulations. It has a classification temperature of l,200℃. Superwool~® Plus is a low bio-persistent fibre insulation and is exonerated from the carcinogen classification in the European Union under the terms of Nota Q of Directive 67/548/EEC, says the manufacturer.
