THE DIRECTOR of a construction firm has been charged with gross negligence manslaughter in relation to the death of a three-year-old girl who died when a wall collapsed onto a public footpath in Prestatyn, Wales. George Collier, a director of Parcol Developments Ltd, designed the wall and his company built it. The gross negligence manslaughter charge follows a Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) review of evidence gathered by North Wales Police and the Health and Safety Executive during their investigation into the death of Meg Burgess in July 2008.
