Women's reproductive health, their social responsibilities outside work, their concentration in certain occupations and their predominance in low paid jobs - amongst other things - all have a specific effect on their work and the risks they face there. Also, women's biological, physical and psychological make-up can place them at greater risk than their male counterparts when exposed to the same work conditions.
