AT OAK RIDGE: Y-12 BORROWS OST VEHICLES FOR HEUMF LOADING

The Y-12 National Security Complex has borrowed a little motorized assistance to relocate the plant's huge stockpile of highly enriched uranium. According to an April 24 memo from staff of the Defense Nuclear Facilities Safety Board, the Oak Ridge plant has borrowed several vehicles from the National Nuclear Security Administration's Office of Secure Transport to support transfers of nuclear materials from various Y-12 nuclear facilities to the recently completed Highly Enriched Uranium Materials Facility.
