Bechtel’s Systems and Infrastructure unit, responsible forrnthe company’s government businesses, is undergoing arnreorganization to consolidate “five regionally focusedrnbusiness lines to three global business lines”—NuclearrnSecurity & Operations (NS&O), Environmental (ENV),rnand Defense & Security (D&S), according to a messagernsent to employees last week. The reorganization, set to gorninto effect June 1, comes in the wake of Bechtel’s unsuccessfulrnpursuit of the U.K. Nuclear DecommissioningrnAuthority’s new contract to manage and decommissioningrnthe UK’s set of Magnox nuclear power stations and twornresearch sites. “Through a strong effort by our two UnitedrnKingdom-based business lines, we have established BSIIrnas a credible contractor and business partner with both thernNuclear Decommissioning Authority and the UK Ministryrnof Defence,” BSII President Craig Albert said in thernmessage, adding that “we are establishing BSII Internationalrnin London with the objective of continuing torninternationalize our three global business lines.”
