Savannah River Advisory Board to Discuss Nuclear Material, Waste Management

The Savannah River Site Citizens Advisory Board will hold its next series of committee meetings, including committees on nuclear material and waste management. The nuclear materials committee will focus on deactivation and cleanup of the 235-F building at SRS. That facility was known as the plutonium finishing building. During Cold War efforts, 235-F was used to finalize preparations for plutonium to ready material for modern nuclear weapons.
