About a case of elastofibroma dorsi: A rare benign tumor with moderate uptake of F-18-FDG

A PET/CT performed for a 70-year-old patient initially addressed for lung cancer staging demonstrated an unexpected moderate intensity F-18-FDG uptake in front of bilateral soft tissue masses localized between the inferior tips of the scapulae and the chest. CT imaging was diagnostic with typical features of elastofibroma dorsi (ED). ED is a rare fibroelastic benign tumor however of interest to diagnose on PET/CT to avoid unnecessary biopsy or other investigation. (C) 2015 Elsevier Masson SAS. All rights reserved.
