EXELON BOOSTS NUCLEAR PLANTS AS PART OF EMISSIONS REDUCTION PLAN

Nuclear utility giant Exelon will invest $5 billion in clean energy projects over the next five years, including $3 billion in nuclear uprates, as part of a long-term plan to cut greenhouse gas emissions. Exelon announced that it is now halfway to the reaching the goals of a 2008 plan to reduce, offset or displace 15.7 million metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions per year by 2020.
