I was hoping that I'd make it to100 issues of NEI. But after very nearly eight years working on this magazine - on a total of 96 editions - I have decided to leave. This is my last article as Editor of NEI. Eight years ago, the industry was at a very low point - perhaps the mood back then was akin to that of today's financial sector. But there was even less certainty then over whether nuclear had a long-term future. Even nowadays, with so much talk of a 'nuclear renaissance', many are still of the opinion that we're only seeing the sector perform a 'dead cat bounce'.
