France's nuclear industry is off the starting blocks and gathering momentum for a new era of nuclear power. It has been argued - mainly by antinuclear groups - that there is insufficient ultra heavy forging capacity to fulfil any meaningful growth of the nuclear power sector. However, speaking at the 3rd Annual European Nuclear Power conference, organised by Platts and held in the UK's capital on 30 June and 1 July, Westinghouse vice president for nuclear power plants supply chain Jack Lanzoni said that there is now sufficient activity to give vendors enough confidence that this particular supply bottleneck will be addressed.
