Risk Management in Company Operations

With the laws of litigation stacked up against company directors, giving employees a policy document to read and sign is now not enough. Proving that employees have read and understood policy documents is required if prosecution or even prison sentences are to be avoided. With some company policy documents running into tens of pages covering everything from expected behaviour on a Christmas night out to the correct use of IT equipment, it is easy to see how 'didn't read that bit' could be an effective defence and when the onus is on the company to prove otherwise, a robust risk management policy is called for.
