摘要

There will always be some trepidation when you first start a new job, and you meet your colleagues for the first time. But I always think it is worse in a graduate scheme, where you are beginning your working life with a large group of your peers. It's made even worse when you know that the scheme you're about to embark on is brand new, and the eleven people you are working with are the only other graduates on the scheme.rnI remember when I first met my fellow nucleargraduates: We met in Penrith for a welcome weekend, to get to know one another. I arrived late and I was tired and cold, and a little disorientated by my new surroundings. As I walked into the hotel bar to meet the rest of the group, I remember thinking how tall everyone was, and that they all seemed to be talking very loudly. How could I introduce myself to all these people?
