摘要

The Ionising Radiations Regulations 1999 place a number of responsibilities on employers in relation to their employees working with ionising radiations. Similar requirements apply in other European member states. It is important to restrict the radiation doses received by employees, and employers need to consider the designation of their employees. There are a number of requirements placed on employers if they decide to classify their employees and all employers are encouraged to periodically review the designation of their staff. In most cases, the only time that the designation of employees as classified persons can be changed is at the end of a calendar year. There are costs associated with having employees designated as classified persons and it is recommended that employers consider reviewing the designation of their employees annually during October to early December.
