Four new committee members arrive

Like for most members, the last year has been a particularly challenging time for Cumbria Branch as it has had to adapt to the world of remote working in our day jobs and virtual events. During 2020, the Cumbria heat of the YGN speaking competition was transferred to the virtual world and at the time of writing it is now building up to the 2021 competition on 8 June.The last year has also seen a number of changes to the branch committee. At the AGM this year, four new members were welcomed to the committee including Ellie Ford (Sellafield Ltd) as STEM Lead, Chris Cousins (Sellafield Ltd) as Networking Lead, Richard Downey (Sellafield Ltd) as Skills Lead and Pete Simmons (Morgan Sindall) as Membership Lead. They and the existing branch committee team look forward to working with local members as things build towards a return to face-to-face engagements later in 2021. The branch is continuing to look for volunteers, particularly around the events team, so if anyone reading is interested in getting involved please get in touch.
