摘要

A two-dimensional (2D) problem of electromagnetic wave diffraction from a cylindrical body of an arbitrary cross section embedded in a homogeneous chiral half-space is solved using the modified method of discrete sources (MMDS). Results provided by this technique and the method involving the field representation in the form of an integral over plane waves (MIPW) are compared in the case of a circular cylinder. Scattering characteristics of bodies with various cross sections are calculated.
