The dependence of the radiation resistance of a microstrip exciter of magnetostatic surface waves (MSSWs) on the width of the central strip and on the gap between this strip and the ferrite film is investigated. It is shown that, at small gaps, if the strip width is greater than the ferrite-film thickness by a factor of several tens, the radiation resistance varies with the change in frequency due to the interference of such MSSWs for which the strip is a screen. It is found that, at large gaps, the radiation resistance sharply decreases in the high-frequency region of the excitation band. Features of the high-frequency slope of the amplitude-frequency characteristic of signal-processing MSSW devices are revealed.
