摘要

Correlation studies were carried out in order to achieve a common European understanding of the reactivity of agricultural liming materials. Three methods of testing reactivity were compared; (i) the Soil Incubation 1 year and 5 years: (ii) the Sauerbeck/Rietz method: (iii) and the modified Finnish pH stat method. They were correlated by particle size classes for four groups of carbonate liming materials (chalk and soft limestones, crystalline limestones, crystalline magnesian limestones, and crystalline dolomites). Equations for the relationships were established which make transformation of reactivity data possible. Care was taken to indicate minimum standard deviation values to be applied. A fourth method, the Runge method, was graphically compared with the other methods, and for most carbonates it yielded results very close to the Soil Incubation method 5 years.
