摘要

A few months ago my 7-year-old daughter read a book called "Pajama Party," and immediately announced her plans to invite five friends over for the night. They would eat pizza and popcorn like the little girls in the book, tell scary stories, paint their fingernails and stay up till dawn. My husband and I, both writers, were amused at the thoroughness with which our daughter had identified with the characters in the story, and were delighted that reading seemed on track to become an indispensable part of her life.
