When israel invaded Lebanon in 1982,Assaf Sharon was only 8 years old. As a young man, he served as a reservist with the elite Golani Brigade occupying South Lebanese hillsides, which he remembers for their beauty, and as the place where his friends died. A few years later, in 2000, when those troops were pulled out, he wondered why they'd ever been there. And now that his own son is 8, this 31-year-old graduate student wonders why Israel is calling up its reserves again.
