The Royal Train of 2015

Shortly after 1.30pm on 5 November 2015, a special Dunedin Railways passenger train departed Mosgiel Railway Station bound for Dunedin and carrying the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall on this stage of their short tour of New Zealand. This was the first Royal train since 1954 to carry a member of the Royal Family over a portion of the New Zealand railway network. In an indirect way, the NZ Railway and Locomotive Society was honoured to have one of its life members invited to ride on this train, and this is Ian's story of this very special occasion.
