On 21 January 2017 - the day after Donald Trump's presidential inauguration - America witnessed the largest demonstration in its history. Sparked by a contentious presidential election and the divisive candidacy of Trump and his reactionary policy platform that threatened to dismantle the fragile social citizenship gaint of various marginalised groups, the women's March galvanised an estimated 5 million people across 550 cities to protest the election of Trump. In solidarity, up to 2 million people across 161 cities around the world joined the anti - Trump demonstations.
