The first section of the huge land bridge forming the main pedestrian entrance to the Olympic Park has been lifted into place. The bridge leads from the Stratford City development across the Aquatics Centre and on towards the Olympic Stadium. The 250m-long, 40m-wide bridge, made with 1,700t of steel, will form the roof of the Aquatics Centre training pool. It will also provide the main pedestrian access into the Olympic Park which will be used by up to 200,000 people every day during the Games.
