One of the most enjoyable aspects of my role as President of the American Society of Naval Engineers (ASNE) is that it gives me an opportunity to meet and interact with many of the volunteers who play such an important role in helping us to remain a thriving and healthy organization. ASNE has a small and highly dedicated professional staff that does an excellent job of providing the Society's vital core operations and support. However, we couldn't fulfill our defined purposes or carry out our prescribed functions without a large and active cadre of volunteers who support the goals and objectives of the Society and who are willing to commit their time and effort to support our profession.
