Replacing the tedium and improving the reliability and speed, high-medium throughput automated systems are becoming more common in most laboratories. Automation liberates researchers to carry out other tasks as well as improving the efficiency of a diverse range of procedures. These include nucleic acid and protein preparation, cloning and cell culture maintenance as well as screening in drug discovery projects.
