Separating molecules using electrophoresis is one of the first lab techniques fledgling scientists learn-and one of the most essential. The use of an electric field to separate molecular components by their molecular weight is one of the main methods scientists use to analyze proteins and nucleic acids. Electrons still flow from black to red, however the products highlighted here give scientists the tools needed to obtain results faster and more reproducibly.
