Cloning pioneer Rudolf Jaenisch, a biologist at the Whitehead Institute in Cambridge, Massachusetts, is one of seven researchers to be awarded the US National Medal of Science this year. The White House announced the list of recipients - along with five awardees of the National Medal of Technology and Innovation - on 27 September.
