MITOTIC STUDIES OF CHARA VULGARIS TREATED WITH A DYE ORANGE-G

摘要

Orange-G dye showed stimulatory effect on mitotic index of Chara vulgaris at lower concentrations (100 ppm, 250 ppm and 500 ppm), which was inhibited at higher concentrations (750 ppm and 1000 ppm). Different types of chromosomal aberrations were induced at metaphase and anaphase, whose percentage increased with an increase in concentration and duration of the dye treatment.
