For northern hemisphere observers Mercury will begin the month lost in the glare of the rising Sun; as the month passes Mercury will rise above the eastern horizon; by mid month Mercury will be standing low above the southwest horizon at sunset and will set below the west-southwest horizon about 1 hour later; by month's end Mercury will be standing above the southwest horizon at sunset and will set below the western horizon about 1 3/4 hours later. For southern hemisphere observers Mercury will begin the month lost in the glare of the rising Sun; by the end of the first week Mercury will be standing very low above the southwest horizon at sunset and will set below the southwest horizon about 1/2 hour later; by month's end Mercury will be standing low above the western horizon at sunset and will set below the west-southwest horizon about 3/4 hours later.
